“Gorilla Tours and Safaris exceeded expectations for 8 day tour”
From initial contact with a few tour companies, it quickly became obvious that Gorilla Tours and Safaris was the one for us. Amos responded so promptly to all our email enquiries and personalised the itinerary to pack a lot into our 8 day tour of Rwanda and Uganda. What we thought was a great tour on paper was even better when we actually experienced it. Hard to pick a favourite because they were each unique and fascinating in their own right - the gorilla trekking in Rwanda, the all-day chimpanzee habituation experience in Kibale and the various safaris in Uganda. We were more than happy with the standard of accommodation and meals provided in the mid-range option we chose. To top all this off, we had Ronnie as our tour guide driver. Ronnie went above and beyond what is required as a tour guide. He is intelligent and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour, even making suggestions as how to get the best camera shots. Thank you Ronnie, and the whole Gorilla Tours and Safaris team for a wonderful time.

"Best safari experience”
We did an 8 day safari with Gorilla Tours and Safaris and could not recommend the company more. Fantastic service from initial email bookings with Amos, so accommodating and professional. Our guide, Alfred, was fantastic and became more like a friend than a guide! He was always helpful, had much knowledge about the regions and animals and safely transported us from the north to south of Uganda! Every place we visited was special and unique, the accommodation was excellent and food was wonderful. We honestly could not have had a better trip and would recommend Gorilla Tours and Safaris as a company and Uganda as a destination- it has so much to offer!! Having been on 5-star safaris in South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya, I can genuinely say that Uganda matched these experiences at a fraction of the price.

We booked our 10-days tour with Gorilla Tours and Safaris and we had a wonderful experience.
Our contact person was Amos and he was very friendly and responsive over e-mail and made the booking process smooth. He is a professional!
It was a very reliable company,we paid our tour far in advance, they even upgraded our accommodation at Lake Mburo.
They also send us copies of the gorilla and chimp permits we'd payed.
Ronnie was our driver and he was very nice and a careful driver.
We had a lot of fun with him.
For our next trip to Uganda,we will certainly contact them!
Thanks Amos and Ronnie

“Best Travel Company We Have Ever Used”
We just got back from 23 days in Uganda ,Kenya and Tanzania, which was all planned by Gorilla Tours and Safaris. From my first email to Amos to the moment Alex dropped us off at the airport to fly home, there was much professionalism and care for our satisfaction in our trip. Alex was a wonderful guide. He always wanted us to get the picture of the animal we were viewing and continually looked for the leopard we wanted to see. No, we didn't see one but he always was looking.
If you are planning on going to Uganda, this is the company you want to plan your vacation with.

A truly African best Experience

My friend and I spent 3 unforgettable days on a tour to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to see the mountain gorillas. We chose to make this trip with Gorilla Tours and Safaris - a company which I can recommend highly.
Early on the first morning, we were collected from our hotel in Kampala by our driver, Vicent. Vicent had an excellent level of spoken English, he was very friendly, a very safe driver, and had extensive knowledge of Uganda's history, people, flora and fauna. The drive from Kampala to Bwindi was very long (12 hours, including a 1 hour lunch break), but it was far from boring as the landscape changed constantly from city to small towns, to grassy plains, and magnificent green rolling hills. During this drive we also crossed the equator and stopped for a brief photo opportunity. The roads in this area of Uganda are ok, but there were some poor areas, and the last 4-5 hours of the drive were over 'African massage' roads.
We stayed overnight in the Buhoma Community Rest Camp, which was very comfortable and had a magnificent view of the forest.
The second day was the one that we were there for! We drove to the National Park Headquarters. We were placed in a group of 8 to track the gorilla family. Numbers are deliberately kept low (24 per day) in order to keep the impact on the gorillas at a minimum, so I highly recommend that you book early if you are interested in tracking gorillas. The length of the trek into the forest is entirely dependent on where the gorilla family is. We trekked for a total of 6 hours but regardless of the length of the trek, be aware that it is a difficult hike. A leader with a machete cut the track through the vines and thick shrub for us, and the walk was extremely slippery and steep. All members of our group had a fall at some stage during the day, and we all left the forest with cuts, scratches and bruises. Having said that, there is always an option to hire a local porter who will carry your bag and literally, push you up the hills if necessary! We had one woman in our group who had two porters - one pushing and one pulling! Be sure to wear good hiking boots and long trousers, which you will tuck into your socks to prevent being stung by stinging nettle.
It has been said many times, but it is entirely true that every cut, scratch and burning muscle will be instantly forgotten the minute you see the gorillas. You spend a total of an hour with the family (this is heavily controlled) and every minute of this time is rewarding and awe-inspiring. We saw the gorillas eating, getting ants from a tree, swinging on vines, playing and sleeping. This was by far the most rewarding animal-based experience that we have ever had, and we would definitely do it again if given the opportunity.
The third day was spent driving back to Kampala - another long 12-hour day, but again the beautiful scenery kept us entertained.

Good and Value for Money service.
Having organized and paid using western Union before we landed I was feeling a little butterflies in my stomach worried about African Conmen, but I was pleased to find that these people were honest service providers. Have nothing but positive things to say about the agency. Was picked by my driver Edward up promptly at the airport, stayed in Kampala and then did the 3 day trip to Bwindi. It was a great Safari, enjoyed the roads of Uganda, this tiny African Country has one of the best Roads in Africa (although a big part is 2-way), actually 10 hrs went by with quite some ease with constantly changing landscape. The guide/driver Edward was very friendly, caring, proffesional and the powerful land cruiser vehicle we used which I took to be new was extremely comfortable. The best part was the honesty of the tour operator, there was no hidden cost and we did not pay anything extra during the 3 days. Would give a recommendation to trust them whilst communicating and fixing the trip on email.
